Ben Wahl

Executive Functioning and Social Skills

While executive functioning and academic learning have been reviewed extensively, little discussion has been given to the ways in which executive functioning functioning impacts social skills. Ben has devoted thousands of group and individual practice hours to help young people improve their social competency. Parents will gain new insights into the specific challenges that may be impeding their child’s social growth, as well as concrete tools and resources to help their child gain confidence when interacting with peers and adults.

Ben serves as the program director and lead facilitator for Ryther’s Aspiring Youth Program.  He has worked with children, adolescents and young adults for over fifteen years as the director of an outdoor education program and in a variety of other roles. In 2005, Ben founded the Aspiring Youth Program. Ben holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MSW from the University of Washington. In his free time Ben enjoys telemark skiing, gardening, trail running and other outdoor pursuits.

Ben will be speaking at Lehman Learning solutions on Monday April 20, 2015 at 7pm.
